Yeah his friend just played the game without saying anything. Didn't defend his buddy when the team was giving him shit, didn't talk in draft, didn't ping, nothing. Just ran around on Rehgar with an Abathur hat on. Even when I was just starting down near rank 25 ish before they did the MMing rework and stuff, I brought a new friend to play the game. He had some experience with LoL but I followed his play during our QM games and told him where to improve and I told him what picks were garbage on what map.

I mean I could understand him picking Abathur in that spot if the team had a second tank instead of a Raynor, or if the map was something requiring some sort of lane push. But yeah, he basically threw the game. He didn't even position himself up near the walls to try to help with lanes. He sat in base the whole time putting hats on us. Was bad lol

I'm getting closer to rank 1 and thankfully my MMR finally broke 2500 (had been in the 2420-2450 range from level 19-6 lol).

Is it harder to MMR up over time? I feel my play has improved quite a bit since before my 2-3 month break in the fall. I position better, my KDA on all characters has improved, my win rate in HL is about 58-60% but my MMR on Hotslogs has only moved up like 109 points.

I want 3k+ but I feel like I'd need to win 30+ matches in a row to move up 200 points lol

Lunara was just played in the ESL this weekend multiple times by Team Blaze (and other teams) and they beat Tempo Storm 2-0 with her.

She's actually good now and can easily finish a game with 250k siege dmg if you talent that way (Which is pretty worthwhile on maps like BHB and sky temple).

There are certainly better picks in most situations, but she is viable (and better than the other 1.5 heroes my gf can play lol).

More games played overall = less MMR gained/lost per game.

If you really have around a 58% win rate in HL then you will get to 3k, it just might take 100-200 more games than if you started a new account (which is kinda silly...I think win streaks///loss streaks should move mmr faster).

When I solo q'd to 4k MMR it took me roughly 200 total games with around a 58-59% win rate. Granted, I had over 1,000 QM games played already so I was pretty prepared for my HL start, which many people don't do.

On second thought I'm probably closer to 56%. 58 seems a bit high. But still, oh well. I guess I made a mistake jumping into HL the moment I got 40 on QM. I remember getting 30, trying HL, realizing I needed 10 heroes, getting 40 on QM and then buying the cheapest of each role + some "must-haves" like Jaina.... and going right into HL.

I guess I could make a smurf but I own too many skins and heroes now to want to start over just for the sake of MMR. A bit frustrating but I'll just keep plugging away. I would like to hit rank 1 as my main goal. It probably doesn't mean much but it'd be cool to look at Hopefully by the end of the week if I can keep doing what I've been doing recently. I am 1 win off 4

Yeah I wouldn't bother making a new account....blizz will start season 1 sometime between now and 2026 probably so just wait for that for your "next chance"
