nope this is not true

Dota is a Modification of Aeon of Strife ... which is a funmap for Starcraft

Dota is just the most successful and known MOBA game - stroke down by LoL by being the most played game in the World - beating World of Warcraft by double amount of playtime


I love dota, i like LoL, hate what they did to dota 2 and love hots ... hots is a really fresh game and depends mostly on teamwork and takes much away, like lasthitting / denying (which lol player doesnt know anyway ^^) and focuses on teamfights ... right now no Items - not sure if they are planning on implementing Items within the alpha / beta / release state ... but with the varying skill system it has its own style and is cool the way it is

potential to be better than league?

Definitely ... From the Graphics both use the comic style so there is no real difference and if you are used to LoL - you are automatically used to hots style ... the gameplay will vary a little as the objectives in both games are different - hots goes less into laning, more into objecitves like mercenaries (jungle) and quests (special map features - protecting 2 shrines / getting tribute and cursing the enemies / getting coins to pay a warship to destroy enemies defense with cannonflagship )

Blizzard is as always way ahead when it comes to style and layout ... everything looks new and stylish, not like LoL where the client is kind of a mess ...

Pretty textures, awesome client overview, very user friendly in every way.


Not sure about their ongoing plans / which features they will still implement, but from what i see right now it is very good ... compared to the other MOBA that came out ... i usually started the game, played 1 or 2 games and uninstalled it ... even dota 2 because of the bad color management and very bad styles ... but hots bound me

So your telling me that Aeon of Strife came out before Defense of the Ancients on Wc3? I am pretty certain the Aeon of Strife came out after Dota the original man. Dota the original was developed prior to even Frozen Throne Expansion. Then some of the makers of Dota All Stars which came out in Frozen Throne were the ones who left that development to create the stand alone as we know it now: League of Legends.

But I may be wrong, I was far more of a Warcraft 3 fan over Starcraft and were talking like a decade ago haha!
