Since this forum is pretty dead atm I figured I'd post a new discussion.

Post what your favorite hero/heroes are and why. Why do you like playing them? Post your build. If it's a hero that isn't "meta" do you get flamed for picking them?

Guess I'll start.

My fav hero to play atm is the butcher. I like how you could build him a lot of different ways and he is still solid. Plus that burst damage is crazy.
Close 2nd is diablo, ever since he was really powerful til now I still really enjoy playing him. It's so awesome when u can get a good shadow charge + overpower to take someone out

Nova or Sonya is my current meta

Diablo / Jaina / Sylvanas


Jaina for obvious reasons. If I have pick #1 or 2 in draft I lock her in out of courtesy for my team. Like her burst combo, only downside is the obvious lack of mobility in any game vs a stealth with no team support.


Sylvanas I like because I typically spec her half assassin half minion clear. Always nice to carry around an Ult that can single handedly win the game.


Diablo... I sometimes get flack for picking Diablo. Depends on the team. My friends know I play a more than competent Diablo, so they're fine with me playing it. I could go Johanna or Mur, but it's just not my cup of tea I guess. I've always enjoyed Diablo, one of the few tanks that excites me to play. Nothing better than ganking an assassin and pulling him/her back and slamming them into your assassins to munch on. Downside obviously being how easily he can be nuked when on low soul stacks.

But at 100 stacks with a decent team Diablo feels like a nice balance of front line tank and damage support. Lightning breath can be really great in combination with a Murky or Butcher's chain.



You know how it is, slot 4 in the draft, pre-lock Diablo so the top slots know they aren't gonna be tank-less if they pick assassins, and you get the "play a different tank" comments. As if me playing my 4th game on a Mur is going to beat my 120+ game master Diablo... Had a dude once lock in diablo in front of me and say in chat "I don't trust any Diablo but my own, so I'll tank"... He had like 23 games on it lol

jaina/zerathul/illidan/bw

jaina has one of the best burst ingame/ if not the best, can easily one-shot a mage like KT and that's a good 4V5 going
zerathul is just so good at camping weak champs and turning fights with his ulti, makes him a way better assassin than nova and way more mobile
illidan is a very good combo with abathur (only play him when there's one), can easily 1v3 (or 2V3 afaik), and almost always wins, if there's no silence; though have to be careful with silences and stuns..
Although brightwing aint very mobile and really mana consuming, it still remains a great champ in my opinion, despite the fact that there are better supports such as uther and rehgar, i still enjoy playing her from time to time

Abathur - pushing lanes with trains is fun, I have a pretty high win rate using locusts build and dominating siege. Always have to pay attention to the board, symbiote to help the team, push lane, and move around.. all simultaneously. Makes me feel constantly engaged.
Murky - pufferfish is probably my favorite spell in the game. Makes a cute noise and big explosion. I typically die <2 times a game with him. Bubble for days.
Gazlowe - If you set to reduce non-hero damage + robo-goblin, you become a terror to the siege game. Nothing can stop the Gaz destruction. Accompany this with slowing turrets and sprint = getaway every time.

Jaina, Ill (though finding a game to play him in is tough), KT, and Zagara. Murky is fun to, though I don't find him consistent enough to play in HL.

thrall is the best hero hands down /thread

I do love me some frostwolf resilience Thrall.
Haven't purchased him yet, but probably will soon.

i like sonya and diablo so far joanna is alright

I liked Diablo back when he destroyed buildings fast. Now he's a piece of crap. Some of his talents are stupid... Like get a quarter second more stun only if you hit them into a wall.
