happy.gif yeah breda itself is pretty doable by bike only, however as far as i know public transport is okayish also (i'm not sure whether foreign students get a free public transport card for though - but i guess you'll notice). i cannot tell taxi prices in Breda but in amsterdam its pricy though. if you want to visit other cities and you got that free transport card - train is an okayish alternative - however if you wanna visit little villages public transport can be a bitch

for going out, de havenmarkt/de markt in the city centre - guess you'll get a guide around the city during your introduction weeks.

Will you be staying in Breda yourself (get a room or sth - would probably be best^^) or in one of those little villages next to it (Bavel, Dorst, Teteringen, Terheijden)?

nope i dont live in Breda, but have been to school there and my parents live like 10 kms away from it so i do know the city a lil ^

about this card, just send an email to the avans hogeschool (i'm sure you do have the email adress - they should be open to emails even during summer holidays) about "whether or not the OV-Studentenkaart is available for people outside of the Netherlands". Even though i dont think Avans itself is the right place to email im sure they do have contacts to the guys that arrange that kinda stuff ;P. I dont think you should ask teachers during introcuction as i dont think they do know everything about that kind of stuff for foreign students.

Nee, Bananabar zit op de wallen. Vanaf Dam richting Wallen lopen dan kan je hem bijna niet missen. Nabij de Bulldog daar.
