You could have provented alot of scamms if you put a red flag with a link to the SA next to their name, so when ever they have a SA against them, it would warn others and they could easily see it when messaging/ trading.

There is already a system in place in where if there are multiple different accusations against a suspected person, than that person gets suspended for a short period of time while the investigation occurs.

Use the 2/3 rule for your trades, Join date, posts and fg. That helps solves some of the issues

This is dumb. And the rules explicitly say this isnt a safe way to trade.

If you don't trust the other person, request a mediator or have them go first.



The issue is, false accusations are a thing, and the harassment that goes along with it. It can sometimes take weeks / months to close a false scammer accusation.

This will do more harm than good as a good portion of the scams that occur are carried out by a scammer impersonating another user of our site,

I'm sure you wouldn't want to login to the site one day and find out you have a red flag next to your username because someone pretending to be you scammed another user.

With that said I do urge users to trade using a mediator service as unofficial community standards like the "2/3rd rule" do not protect you or anyone from scams,

I love how everyone here is pretending using mediator is a reliable option
Imagine you want to sell 5 items to different users and you have to wait 45 minutes for mediator to mediate each trade.

There were topics last season of people waiting for mediator for 2 hours.
I guess its fine cos even scammer loses motivation to scam after waiting for that long.

That is untrue.

From my time as a mediator up till now I've never seen a D2R trade being left alone for longer than 10 minutes, Steam or Battle.net related mediations may take longer but never does a mediation go unattended for 2 hours,

the only exception to that would be legacy LoD mediations which actually require the mediator to be in the game to mediate the trade which is understandable but still those don't go unattended for 2 hours.

I personally like the idea. The very limited cases of someone being flagged due to impersonations and/or false accusations doesn't compare to preventing scams on a high scale. The modern scammer will get 10-15 people within 20 minutes. An automated system or a manual system to prevent that within 20 minutes seems unlikely to prevent the first 10 people from getting scammed. The whole goal is to prevent the "mass scammings" and protect the users of this site.

Any system that can reduce the number of scams by an individual by over 50% should seriously be considered.

I also want to point out that the current med system is a joke and that's why no one uses it.
