Search engine manipulation occurs when a user adds text to their post to cause their post to get caught in the search function more frequently. As an example see Figure 1 (at the foot of this post) - this is a topic which popped up when I searched for [frw java]:

I believe this type of search engine manipulation amounts to a violation of d2jsp site rule #3 [No spamming or trolling. All topics and replies must be on topic and relevant to the discussion content and sub-forum it is created under. - emphasis mine] as well as the d2jsp trading rules [Do not offer fg/items you don't have.] and [Do not advertise items not directly for sale via d2jsp. ...]. These posts are a nuisance, cause the forum to be harder to effectively navigate, and diminish the value of the search feature. I would like for a report function to be added that would allow these type of fraudulent posts to be closed.

Figure 1. As you can see, this thread has nothing to do with the search phrase [frw java] but it shows up because of the search engine manipulation tags at the bottom.

This currently is not allowed. Such posts need to be reported so we can handle them. While we do allow search terms to be added to the bottom of post, ALL search terms must directly relate to the items being traded.
