Error: You are reporting too many posts in a short amount of time. Please wait for staff to review your existing reports and try again later.

I'm trying to be a good spawn and patrol the trading forums but I get slowed down and discouraged by this limit. What's the point? To prevent abusers that spam? Reprimand them.

Hi Vamp,

Read this and reach out to a senior mod to add a poll : https://forums.d2jsp.org/topic.php?t=57896631&f=258

This hasn’t always been the case, users used to be able to report as many posts as they want. I think the change happened because some users would report every single post and it would flood the queue. The abuse is there but I agree, there are tons of violations on the forum and being limited on the amount we can report can cause issues.

I don’t think this will revert back to its old workflow.

This is to help mitigate the abuse of the report feature. I will say that when we receive a report, we manually review each report, and the entire topic along with it so that we are able to catch other things that may have been missed.

Thank you. I reached out to a mod.

Ah I see. So they saw fit to change it for some reason. Do they actually care about early bumps and spam in the trading section? I would reach the report limit and stop reporting. Now I'm saving the posts to report later. So they're going to get reported either way. Mods can work them when they have time. Whether there's 10 in the que or 100. I use to be a mod on a forum back in 2011 and I'd spend hours working post reports and scam reports. It is what it is, and you get what you ask for when you sign up for this role.

Sad that people abuse it. Thanks for the clarification though. I won't report more than one post on the same thread if they're going to work the thread in conjunction to the report. They're going above and beyond!

So to answer your question, they absolutely do care about early bumps and every violation on the site regardless of it’s a small or large violation, all offenses are handled when there is visibility on it.

The problem is the sheer volume of offenses that are coming in. You can imagine when there are dozens of thousands of new posts on a daily basis how many of those violate simple rules like early bump.

Alright makes sense.

Not sure if we are allowed to bump suggestions? But if so. Bump. If not, ban me I guess.

I wouldnt really consider it being a Karen. People that early bump or give free spam bumps to their friends threads gives them an unfair trade advantage by having their topics brought to the front more frequently than the normal threads. The limit was created for a reason, to give everyone a fair chance for having exposure on their threads. Otherwise those on 24/7 would always have their threads in the top 50.

Thanks for spamming my thread though.

Save your reports for more major violations. If someone is out there early bumping or creating a million threads to avoid bumping. Then yes, feel free to report and maybe even collect evidence.

Might as well report any or all users for early bumps. Might as well. I feel like the mods keep track of how many times a user does it and when necessary they can remind them of the rule. Just a thought .

I could in theory reply telling them that on the thread but technically it's spam or a free bump. This would save the mods from doing so many of my reports. And I would do this if the mods were ok with it. But I feel like it'll create more spam and fights and in the end reports anyways .

Something else I thought. Since I'm reporting these posts regardless if it's hours later due to me waiting for the que to clear. If I say reported 15 posts that were posted today in the course of an hour verses 5 hours they would be older reports relevant to the post itself. Additionally. When a mod goes to do these reports he could knock out 10, 20 or 30 real quick. Instead of doing a couple here and there when they pop up. Mods would have to check these reports collectively less times if they knew some mod had some extra time to spend concentrating on clearing alot out back to back. From personal administration experience, I'd say it's more exhausting to jump around from pms to scam reports to post reports to mediating. They can spend less energy and brain power by doing a repetitive task over and over again.

Also from what I can tell the limit is 3 to 5 at a time. I think it's 4? I'm only suggesting we increase it, not take it away. 15 to 20 times a que would please me.
