Hi Harley,
The true workload comes from the S/A helpers, they are the ones gathering all the data and information needed for the moderators to determine who is guilty of scamming.
If you notice, there are tons of S/A helpers and more have been added in the last few weeks, I encourage you to take a look at how quick these S/A helpers respond and gather all the information needed.
Once all the information is needed, the case is forwarded to eerock or textbook who reviews the summaries and dictates if a tag request is justified or not. I think 2 moderators doing this is enough, if you add more there can cause problems with differences of opinions and workflow procedures. The two moderators already do a good job along with the dozen+ S/A helpers, who handle most of the workload.
Also remember to add a poll to a suggestion, if you forget, ask a senior mod to add one in for you.
As of right now, I don’t think it’s necessary, every S/A case gets handled by a s/a helper in a timely manner.
