Have a list of bnet tags of those that have scammed stickied in above forum.

Etc

I know people should be requesting mediator. But maybe this would also help.

Thoughts?

An automatic update feature would have to be implemented for the sticky's post to be modified whenever a new tag was appended. Might also add an extra step for the SA team (hands are already full)

Mixed feelings on this. People can change their battle net tag names. The idea is great but unfortunately wouldn’t have much success. As they can change their names.

Edit: Requesting a mediator is the best way to go.

Didn’t realize you could easily change bnet tags.

I like the idea but it would be more work for everyone on the forum doing it and you can change bnet tags, I don't know how easily though..

Would be nice to concatenate every single bNet tag that was a scammer and do a simple blacklist check before trading. But at that point, if the user is already sketched out and searching their name through a db, they could just request for a mediator.

However, to play devil's advocate, if the process was smooth enough and done automatic whenever a bnet tag was exchanged via pm's or posts (it could act as a preventative measure) for a new user. Might add a bit of server strain doing that though, but I think any kind of preventative measure is a good suggestion.

Not a bad idea overall. I agree with some of the comments below, however. Seems like it might not prove to be as effective due to peoples' ability to change their battlnet names. Additionally, I agree with the post above that there is already enough stickies and information available to help people avoid being scammed.

That's my opinion at least

first one is free every change after that costs 10 bucks, still a decent idea though

I understand where this suggestion is coming from, the issue current stands that the people whom usually get scammed are typically the ones who won't read that message above the trading forum about using a mediator.
A sticky with battle tags that can be changed and will need to be updated constantly isn't going to help prevent scams.

I recommend everyone just use a mediator, our queues are typically at 1 minute or less!
