Hey there!

I am still struggling a little with a perception of being a new, and, therefore, a less trustworthy account, and have been looking for ways to gain more credibility. I thought becoming a verified account should definitely help a little. I failed to realize that it takes 6 months to become one lol

Do you guys think that maybe it might be a good idea to change that to 3 months or less? I personally don't see what would change in 6 months from now. If you have verified your identity with your ID and your payment methods, you will still be the same person in 6 months from now

Additionally, being verified gives you no major privileges from my understanding. So why not have it be enabled in 1 month for example?

Just my thoughts. Interested to see people's ideas on that

I'd have to agree here, 3 months would be pretty reasonable. Everyone could use a bigger pm box etc and verification has no formal correlation to trading trustworthiness, so I don't see this causing and harm. Regarding reputation, verification definitely shows the community you're dedicated and care for the longevity of the site. I could never go back to 50/100 pm box size, didn't like waiting either back in the day haha!

Speaking in terms of perks - check your screenshot again you gain perks related to edits, pm box size, image uploading and max topics tracked with customer &/ verified status.

Haha, I guess I didn't value those as real perks Meant to say that this verification doesn't grant you any substantial privileges on the forum, except for the quality of life improvements; and, therefore, I didn't see a direct need for this waiting period.

I think 6 months is fine.

It’s really not about trustworthiness as much as it is to weed out the work.

Going through the process for every fresh account who isn’t active would just create even more work without much trade off. You do 6 months and you show that your not just a spawn who will leave or create another multi or whatever the various reasons that new accounts are created, used for a few weeks, and then disappear.

I don't really think waiting 180 days is unreasonable. Just my opinion.

I think you can tell that a person is not a spawn simply by looking at the value of the star next to his name...

Great, so then the star is enough legitimacy. What difference does being verified make?

When I look at trades I look at post count (a lot of really old accounts have like 300 posts and 0.0 per day) Sig/Ava. Generally people who put a little bit of time into their profile signals to me that they care. Stars and Fg. Because why would people invest into the site and scam?

But also there are former mediators with scammer tags now. And so I don’t see how being verified means anything.

The only thing the timeline does is weed out people who are not sticking around and give admins less people to be verified. If anyone could just get the tag than the tag would be useless.

I like you want to be verified sooner, and I voted No above... but I do see the point of what other people commented. I'd still like 90 days lol.
