I'd like to see newcomer greeters/mentors. I see no sticky note about the 2/3 rule anywhere, so I never understand it when it is referenced. When the scammer forum is full of posts where the item is given first and the FG is never paid, why is it wrong to say you aren't comfortable? I seemingly detonated my D2JSP account reputation today just by being cautious with a trade. So yeah, a newcomer system would be wonderful.

Welcome to Jsp, to clarify, the 2/3rd rule is not an official rule, it is more of a unofficial practice to trade safe. However nothing will be safer than simply requesting a mediator. It takes 1 minute…. There’s no work around or replacement, just users needing to get used to requesting mediators more often.

As for your suggestion, although I would like to see a mentor ship program rolled out, I highly doubt it will due to the sheer volume of new users joining the website everyday. This will cause a lot of overhead.

The site promotes using mediators. I personally never needed to use one or felt like I needed to use one but I don’t see any problem with people asking for one. If they had an issue with it then they were probably trying to scam.

People actually taking a few minutes to bother to read all the stickies in every forum would be nice too

As far as OP is concerned, I used to reach out to new people and give them some info. Part of it is just experience though. Unless you use a mediator you are never going to be full proof on trading.

2/3 rule works pretty well, but what I have seen lately is a bunch of 2021 accounts getting taken advantage of by older accounts with really low post counts, no friends, no nothing.

In order for the 2/3 rule to work effectively people need to be smart enough to say when something is fishy even if its an older account.

2/3 rule is utter garbage that's an older user thing it offers zero protection for you. Imo having in instant pm from the system that lists where to find help, how to guard urself in trading, what's needed if you want to make an S/A against someone ect is more useful.

It's a guideline at most.

Common sense works in these things. For me it worked since 2005.
