Knowing who previously was a Scammer individual is always nice so you can steer clear of them within trades etc.
Regardless of them paying the scam back its always nice to know who you are dealing with or the history they have had in the past.
I personally think that once you have receive the scammer tag you should no longer have access to change your JSP name to start a new reputation. Thoughts?

/edit was given examples on why locked shouldn't be lumped into this so editing the post to have it consist solely of Scammer tags!

If a user gets unlocked and their scammer tag removed it's because they've paid back their scams and have shown changed behaviour - much like how there is no "mark" on users who scammed in the past and have been unlocked, there won't be any restrictions put in place on users who have reformed and fixed their wrong doings.

Voted no, because some people do make mistakes and end up making them right. I see no need to punish someone who decided to do the right thing.

That doesnt necessarily mean they will do it again. But if someone has a history of doing specific activites im not going to have them within my realm/life. Doesnt mean im stating theyll do it again but its nice to know who you are dealing with in the first place. But thank you for the vague input

Being unable to change a name you decided to create isnt necessarily a punishment, also committing a crime there is always a punishment on top of some sort of fine. So i see zero difference there.

How is taking away a right to change your name not a punishment? :Bonk:

vague input? the mediator agrees and i was being very transparent with your intentions. being able to reform your wrong doings is not something you should be permanently shamed for. most reformed scammers went thru a tedious process to get it back other than say, make a multi like most of the scammers in d2r are doing. we have mediators and forum trade rules for this very reason

I was stating there are two ways to look at it, in the first place you chose the name initially.

In the second place you committed said action so you receive a punishment regardless of paying it back.

in real life you don't just rob a convenience store then the next day go back and give them the money and nothing happens.
