A helpful functionality feature to add to the existing tagging feature, an online / offline indicator, similar to that of your pm box, the user’s name would just be faded if they were offline, or normalized to indicate online.

This could be helpful for any contests, tournaments, or any group activity threads to show who’s currently active or available among multiple users.

It could also be helpful on pages like the general help mediator list page and the s/a helper list page, to let people know who’s currently online instead of individually clicking on each user to view their online status.

As a prior s/a helper I also think this would be a nice touch to be able to view the online status of accuser/accused in my written summary at any point versus looking at one of their last posts or their profile to see it.

I imagine the faded/ non-faded version, like the pm box wouldn’t be too much overhead, you could possibly add the active/ inactive user icon to the frame instead if it’s not asking too much.

Nice touch, and it would be easy to quickly preview if it showed in the Preview Post section.. faded name if they are offline, regular when online. Would it be a live feed though or just at the time of the post being made?

Meaning would it change as the day was going to indicate offline/online.. I dont know how easy that would be to implement.

It would be within the frame of the existing tag that comes up and it would be static to the moment that page was loaded just like in your pm box where you have to refresh to see if a user is no longer active.

It’s functionality and purpose would be non-existent if it was simply the state from the moment the post was created. Just like it would be useless in your pm box if it showed only whether they were online or offline the moment they sent the pm.

It is already implemented within your pm inbox.

Thats true, the button could use the Last Seen as its trigger or whatever. Still voting yes :)

Pardon my piss poor photoshop job, I am a software engineer, not a front end guy. You get the gist from this though.

I'm sorry but this isn't going to be added. The post content is static and what you're requesting would require us to make it dynamic (+ extra database look-ups to fetch online/offline) status. While I do understand this would have some benefit the costs on resources in this instance far out weigh the benefit.
