I will agree there should be a maximum allowed image size.

Actually a good idea. Have it confine big images, especially if they are uploaded from a phone.

I am against this idea.

If image size is a problem for you download a browser extension/plugin.

Many browsers have different extensions/plugins. I don't know what would work best for you. If you find something you like you can then dedicate that browser for use on d2jsp.org. You could also use browser profiles for the same principal.
