I keep seeing new members posting or asking the same things. You will usually be helped quickly and well, but in my opinion it would make some things easier if we had a search feature there.

Voted No. General Help has a decent amount of closed topics.. I don't think having a search feature would change this factor. Users may also inquire about legal and non legal stuff on d2jsp.org. It is a bit more friendly and stand up if someone inquires about something and they are met with a response from another human and in live time. General Help can help a variety of users too and a search function could yield the wrong answers for someone.

An example of a bad general help topic from a search would be the results of star images posted alongside admin stars.A person can post stars but one needs to meet certain criteria in order to use a admin stars. The topic says nothing about that rule. The latter of that site violation can occur and d2jsp.org staff would need to step in and correct it. D2jsp.org staff would also have to figure out how to filter out outdated and or wrong information from General Help in order to make the search work in a friendly and functional way.

In the end I like the way general help is. It helps people and when it doesn't someone from the community is able to step in and help too.

This already exists in a way...
Click on the General Help Unified Sticky, then press CTRL + F, then search.

That will answer nearly any d2jsp related question you could think of. Even if there were an official search feature, it still wouldn't eliminate new users making those same topics.
All of the miscellaneous questions or more unique questions can be answered by the community or staff - that is what GH is for!
