It's a great suggestion and I think it will be implemented if it becomes a viable option.

Meanwhile there are alternative ways to receive push notification on ios but it usually requires additional programs and systems.

It would definitely be nice.
But Android FTW!

So I guess that unfortunately unless Apple changes the way iOS push notifications behaves, this cannot be done
