I would love to browse a forum where scams don't exist, hesitation not a needed action when trading with some users, fact is this would make the site much safer.

IRL if someone commits theft, they go to jail, serve time for x amount of years, then they get released with a stain in their record, on JSP they wait a couple of weeks after they pay their scams and are Scott free.

We need a label/category to put these "Forgiven" members back on this site, at least indicate to us they have been scammer tagged previously, this would ensure the safety of everyone.

I've seen some ex scammers, command people to upfront to them, you don't get to commit a crime and act normal again as if nothing ever happened, we deserve to know your previous scams, D2jsp is basically anonymous, I don't see the problem with having open records.

No, that’s why the scam repay system is so hard to go through, they deserve their second chance without being shamed for a mistake made in the past. And of course the system is even harder for multi time scammers, typically people who have scammed once in the past and been caught won’t scam a second time after making the commitment to repay.

It’s also definitely more then a couple weeks I’ve seen people repay and still be locked a year later, it’s all about proving you are not going to be a repeat offender.

Another issue is the fact that this would be a permanent stain would leave people less enticed to want to repay.

Here’s a pile of old suggestions just like yours.

That's incorrect, everyone deserves to know, shame should serve as a punishment for their wrong deeds.

is one of those bad people that scammed a 2nd time after being tagged.

and if it's been so suggested since 2006, I think it should be a consideration, noting as the scum of these forums don't deserve anyone's sympathy and are too selfish, they deserve the shame.

I understand what you're saying but I voted no. I'm not sure something like that would be necessary and definitely don't think it would improve the safety of any trades. Request mediator is always available regardless of tag status. Most of us have grown up and know better, but you always run the risk when you trade without one.

Funny thing about this suggestion too is you’re suggesting on a multi. You probably already scammed (maybe multiple times) and built a new account using a VPN 😂

Voted no.
When they are labeled a scammer they have a choice.
They can remain scammwr tagged or they can do the right thing and repay their scams and make things right.
The latter is the only way they are eligible to have the tag removed.
This is not mandatory, like jail is for certain violations of the law.
They make the choice to do the right thing and repay their scams.

Going through the process and making the choice to repay gives them another chance to enjoy the site as a normal member, a chance that I believe should not be hindered by forever labeling them as a scammer, especially since there are those times when the scammer at the time made a mistake and has learned from that mistake.

It's not always what it seems and in the scenario it would impact someone who was also a victim in a negative way when they should not be.
