I have heard a few concerns that the fg amount received from donating is not enough.

And i agree. I would like to donate more, but the fg i would get is nothing.

It is just a suggestion. Do it or dont, i think bumping the amount per 100$ to 5k+ would be beneficial. The site has been going for nearly 2 decades without an increase. I think it is time to change it up.

Also, the increase would alter "donate for me" forum.

In the old-school RuneScape trading section. Which is a game that offers trades of gold for fg directly


Can be bought from players for about .70$ per mill
Which means I could get 3-4 times my fg value simply by buying osrs gp and swapping in and using fg for other offered games


I personally enjoy "pay to play" and like to buy my gold because I don't have time to grind as an adult when I can make irl dollars and strictly do the content I like on my games of choice or purchase player services

I have an expensive donor star from when I played diablo 2 as a kid and the fg market price was worth it for me to MoneyGram Paul for fg

But now the fg to irl ratio doesnt match up

Absolutely agree. Was just thinking the other day how hard I work for my money and how little I get for the amount I would spend buying FG.

Really does need a revamp, but not to the point to where it would conflict with people trying to donate fg for stars.

Nah, Paul needs to keep the site running and if the current rates accomplish that, they should be left alone.

One thing I definitely don't want is site ads which could be a possibility if amount of fg/$ is changed.

Well, an adjustment is needed. Otherwise people will just go the easy route and aim for game balance for forum gold. There's just no benefits to buying fg outright with the super old ratios.

If that's the case, it's actually causing less purchases. (It's no longer donating anymore, I'm guessing Paul is saving himself from tax issues)

The best way to look at it is it’s been 2 decades almost and the price hasn’t gone up. If you think of other goods or services over the last 2 decades prices have increased for your general products and or services without quality or quantity increasing with it. I have spent thousands on fg myself and all I can say is it could be a lot worse.

Agree totally. I was actually debating on buying some FG but then realized I could spend that 100$ elsewhere and end up getting like 5x the amount of FG in the long run.

Isn't this a way if getting around the better stars too? Like if users are going elsewhere and getting way better rates for their money then coming back and doing the donate for me feature. Their 10k fg on donate for me for example would now get them a WAY higher star then if they were to actually donate to the site directly? Or is my math wrong here

Paying "X" cash, and getting "Y" forum gold.

The stars are based on "X", so no matter the money you spend or donate, it'll be the same for stars. (IIRC, I could be wrong)
