I'm thinking of a feature that instead of just immediately sending your fg to someone it goes to a "fg-limbo" until the trade is complete.
This would basically take the place of a trade moderator (I'm not saying remove trade moderators. We'll get to that part) and would be
a little faster. Basically, you would send whatever agreed upon amount of fg to a person and it would go to this fg-limbo. The only way
for the fg to be released to the party selling the item would be for both parties to confirm in the "fg-limbo" page that the item has been
received by the person in game. If both parties do not confirm, the fg would then be held in "fg-limbo" until a trade moderator or above
releases it to either side of the trade depending on what happened. There would also be an option to cancel the trade that both parties
would have to select before the trade would be cancelled and forum gold returned to the sender.

Below is a rough draft of what the page could look like for each party

would wish that this feature costs some fg if you use it to trade less than X fg where X is unknown (up to the admins)
because if its for free and usable by anyone with any fg amount, it could be used too often and mods would
have lots of work to do.. well maybe they wouldnt have that much to do but i would wish something like that anway.

whatever.. its a great idea of yours and YES from me :)

no way.

scammers and trolls will take advantage of it.

trading is fine as it is, but some people don't have a brain.

A scammer will just say they didn't get the item. No way to truly prove it either way.

Trolls will just say no to which ever screws the other person over.

did you read it?

both parties have to mark that the receiving party has received the item for the forum gold to be released.
if the person receiving the item doesn't mark it, the forum gold would stay in limbo until the issue is resolved.
basically, fg is always "sent" first to the "limbo" and once the person giving the item sees that it is in the "limbo"
they give the sender the item.

if they're lying and saying that they didn't receive the item when they did, atleast they don't still have the fg and have the option to send it to someone else if they think they're going to get locked.

There wouldn't really be a way for anyone to screw anyone else...

To me it looks like this would just complicate things.
Also considering all kinds of smaller transactions etc.

The fastest method to trade is simply trading with mass-traders who value their reputation or people you know.
The safest is with a mediator.

There's really nothing more to it.
