So I'm a little bummed because I woke up and logged on and saw a JSP notification saying I have been temporarily trade suspended for posting this thread:

https://forums.d2jsp.org/topic.php?t=80814693&f=168&p=543792529#p543792529

I'm dissapointed because I've read the JSP rules and nowhere in the spam section does it say you cannot give away free items. I was warned for something that isn't even listed in the rules. So I'd recommend if you guys warn or suspend people over this to maybe include the following rule in the rules section so people don't make the same mistake I did.

- If you wish to giveaway items, do not post in the services board, post in the giveaway thread here: https://forums.d2jsp.org/topic.php?t=79413494&f=21

I couldn't even find that thread on my own, I had to ask someone where it was. I find it a bit ridiculous to get suspended for offering free items out of kindness only to get hit with a rule violation that doesn't even pertain to spam. How does giving away free torches = spam? Especially when you guys don't make clear that such a thread exists for giveaways, letalone it being "spam" to create service threads to give free service. IDK just does not make much sense. It would make sense if you outlined donations/giving stuff away a bit better instead of just referring it as "spam"

It just rubs me the wrong way and is kind of lazy modding in my opinion. I even double checked before posting yet could not find anything pertaining to giving away free items.

So my site suggestion is to add this link for giveaways: https://forums.d2jsp.org/topic.php?t=79413494&f=21 to the spam section of rules adding that to post donations and free items there. Otherwise you guys are suspending and warning people for something we have no way to find out about unless we get suspended or warned. Just kind of silly in my opinion.

Thanks for reading.

You forgot to add a poll... With that said, you've never been allowed to post give away's in the trading grounds... They are meant for trades, not give a ways. Previously, we used the events section but that has since been removed an we're now directed to the Diablo II discussion section were they have a stickied give away topic. Personally, I would be ok if they were to add another tab for the trading grounds and labeled it "Give away" instead of "Service" but I understand how and why it is the way it. Yes it's a bit vague, but the rules clearly state that the trading grounds are meant for trades and give a ways are not trades by any means.

Yeah it was an honest mistake on my part and I should have just checked around before making the post. My bad in the first place, I just wish it was outlined a bit clearer somewhere either in the rules itself or on the services tab. I'm sure I'm not the first to get a warning nor will I be the last, it's just a bit to easy to make that mistake and it could easily be prevented with further clarification or writing somewhere.

Just was venting a bit in my OP as it's pretty easy for someone new to make a similar mistake and I'm sure it would save the hassle for everyone involved if it was a bit more clear. Thanks for the response and clarification, Stories ^^

That's understandable, and to your point, very true... The rules are kinda vague in some aspects, poor choice of words is what it really comes to. It's certainly not the first time it has happened, and your right it won't be the last, many people are unaware of the sticky in the discussion section, and many others can't be bothered to use it, though I don't see this being allowed in the trading grounds any time soon. Simply do your best to follow the rules in the future and your good to go. Have a great day!

Should be a sticky up top in each trading section to the free-items-thread in d2 discussions.

So everyone have a better chance seeing that its there, can track it and get notifications whenever something is posted... the ones giving away free stuff dont have to wait around for long then..

Best part is, some asshole had to of reported it in order for a mod to see it.

::See's someone being awesome giving away free items::

::reports because I can't get laid.::

It's rather sad. Personally, I'll post my free item games WHERE ITS RELEVANT, because it's common fucking sense, and if people want to report it, fuck em.

No offense to you mods, but if you literally suspend someone for giving shit away, you're an asshole too.

Trading grounds are for trading, Services and price checks, Give aways are not any of these so does not belong. There is a sticky dedicated to give aways, People track it and get notifications when a post is made https://forums.d2jsp.org/topic.php?t=79413494
