Hey all - hope everyone is having a good day.

I had an idea to run by everyone and see how they feel about it. I was thinking that maybe the site would benefit from a forum where the site admin and staff can post various “volunteer” tasks for users to help out around the site. Nothing huge or staff level - even things as simple as guide writing. Perhaps this could engage users who want to give back to the site but may not have the means to do so financially.

Obviously the rules and restrictions would have to be sorted out - just a very prototype idea at this point.

Love or not, feel free to add your insight. All constructive criticism welcome!

It's not a bad idea.
My only concern would be making it visible enough for people to find it.

Can't really see any need for it.

Perhaps something in the same general location as the Donate button - perhaps with the tagline "rather donate time"? or something. Just a thought - lots of details would still have to be finalized by the ones in charge, of course ;)

Agreed - the site functions just fine without it. With that being said, I still feel it would be a good addition in order to engage users who want to give back to the site, but may be unable to afford to do so financially and it also helps reduce the workload of the staff/admin - they'd just have to proof/review the things the volunteers did which will save them lots of time over owning the entire process start to finish. Thanks for your input :)

Just like any other forum.
If someone wants to put in the time to write up a guide then they can and submit it. Then the moderators can determine if its stickied or not. Dont really see a need to have stuff like that delegated out.

I'm not saying it is a horrible idea, but if someone truly wants to genuinely help the site, they will find a way up do so.
Its not about helping the site, but helping the users.
As mentioned above, a lot of users write guides for games they enjoy because they genuinely enjoy the game and want to help others do the same.
