I was bored so I started clearing out some mules and decided to post my trade as auctions. The only problem is, the Ft thread's page 1 get's pushed pretty fast.
An auction kind of relies on people not only being interested, but basically, interested at the time it's on page 1.
Sure my auctions moved, but, it made me think there is an easier way, because I see plenty of auctions being posted, it seems there would be a purpose to this feature.
So I see between the search function and New Post, there's plenty of room for a New Auction feature. And there is plenty of room to add it to the thread tab's also, and the site would still retain the same aesthetics
My thinking is, the auction post feature would be set just like a trade, but you must enter a time from start to finish, and a predetermined minimum bid of at least .01, and the post's time limit wouldn't start until the first bid. Granted, I'm not sure, does the auction stay active to the second or to minute, etc., etc., etc. This is just a passing thought not a working theory.
My thinking is, the reply function should simple be a numerical entry like the gold send function, type 120 and it calls it 120fg. This way someone can't just spam a post to start the timer, and it's an auction, you don't need to talk in an auction.
I don't know, I don't design websites, maybe it's more a pain than it would ever be worth. But, I would like a function like this, and I'd imagine, it would get used considering I do see auctions fairly commonly.
Of course maybe I'm just babbling about non sense... 3:1
