It has happened once before and it was two days from happening again - All my tracked topics had almost expired.

My suggestion (and I have seen others suggest this in the past but it's worth bringing up again) is to have a PM notify when your tracked topics are about to expire, maybe a week in advance.

Sorry, you can track your topics for 90days, just check them on regular basis and renew them.
I have too many topics tracked, i wouldnt like to get pms about my tracked topics

personally no use for it. i find re-tracking them for the max every once in a while works fine.
