basically other sites that do trades or bidding (eg: eb4y) allow you to increase the maximum number of topics shown so that you can more quickly find the thing you're looking for

In account settings on jsp you can change this up to 50 threads per page and also 25 posts per thread.

This is adequate imo especially with the search bar in trade forums.
