Problem:
Until somewhat recently, there was a 10 per-comment cap on event emoticons, just like in threads. However, there is now a 10 emoticon cap for the entire event thread. After 10 emoticons, no one in a future comment can use them.
If people use emoticons below your comment in the event, and you edit your comment to have emoticons, their posts update to not display emoticons.

Why it should be fixed:
There's little potential for abuse and we like using emoticons!
