Top 10 according to views per day

also could have a section about the most interesting threads

people want to know what everyone is talking about or what is cool.

No debate here, just do it.

The metric would have to be more complicated than views per day, because otherwise the same sticky threads would be listed as most popular all the time.

Creating an algorithm to determine which threads are most interesting would not be even close to worth the effort.

Sorry to burst your bubble like this, but I definitely support a Daily Popular Threads listing.

If you're too lazy to find interesting topics by yourself then you don't deserve to read them

Would vote no if OP knew how to make a poll

other threads wouldn't actually disappear, it would just be a starting point and something to attract mobile users about what's going on - maybe even the top three threads per hour - although if you spend 6 hours a day trolling topics, you might be worried about an idea like this.

And polls are just a troll to make you think your opinion matters.

yeah, jsp already shows the last thread in the forum and every website you go to now has a what's trending section. so it might be a bit of an update/change - but it's also making the site more available to casual users too.

you could also put this on the Home / frontpage of JSP

You would / should also make thread views count the number of guest visits through phone browsing too as they should count

2 ways you could do this, either by tracking each thread count and then divided it by the number of hours it has been active

or you can have moderators recommend a popular topic in each section.

Then it could be listed as "Trending threads this hour" and simply use it to "advertise" trending topics to casual browsers.

I don't really see a reason for that.
Feels like it could be abused somehow, like people trying to make their thread one of the most popular one somehow.

your right, its better that people make their threads as boring as possible - somehow.... <_<

I thought about this being seen as some kind of popularity tool that could be misused and that's why i think there needs to be a time limit or random threads used as well as to not play favorites. Is just that a lot of web sites list there topics traditionally as well as a "What's trending atm" kinda thing - and since most mobile browser are on the go and want their "news" pretty fast.

People also thought the ticker tape would change stocks, but that never happened.
