The issue I have is the fact that if your guild is dwindling and is an older guild, instead of leaving and starting a new one, why not "time-out" members?

Maybe after an assigned time period of them being absent, an email is sent stating that their membership will terminate and their position will go to the next senior member?

Out of fairness, if the leaders are gone for a year or so, they should be removed from the list of membership for that guild. I mean, hey, they can't log in and check in even once a year to keep their status? To me it seems like they could care less. IMHO.

Anyone else feel the same????

I don't agree with removing guild owners after being away for a long period of time. The guild is their own investment and why should we take that from them?

There are plenty of instances where users go afk for over a year or two and come back to the community and pick up where they lift off.

Sorry bud, voting 'never'.

LOL, thats why its a poll, no reason to apologize.

BTW, whats a good reason? Prison?

I mean think about it, aside from prison, coma, or such, someone can't be bothered to check into and log into their own guild once a year? Seriously?

Ok, what about keeping them in the guild but putting an active member in charge and flagging the leader so they can't be kicked until a 2nd year goes by without a peep?

In prison or not, it's still his investment.

Why wouldn't the active members coordinate and start a new guild among themselves if they wanted an active leader so badly?

In my guild the other 3 members have been absent:
8 months, 1 week, 2 days
1 year, 7 months, 2 weeks, 1 day
3 years, 2 months, 1 week, 4 days

... I have invested a lot myself in form of donations to the guild over the years, so have other members, present and past, so entirely is not his investment, granted the only one whom knows this is the leader. So, I do have a vested interest in keeping it active. When people look to join a guild they dont want to see its leader and members all inactive for long periods [years]. They want to join an active guild.

I understand that, but that's like saying if njaguar goes afk from the site for a year, I should be placed as admin because I've donated to the site. Just because you donated, doesn't give you any built-in rights to the guild.
