hello,
i have seen a few people with 3 or more topics in the top 50 most recent topics in the diablo II trading forums (sometimes around 10 topics for one person)
my suggestion is that there should be a limit on the "Bump" button - i.e. the same way it disappears when the last post to your thread has been less than 4 hours ago, it should disappear whenever there are 2 or more topics by the user in the top 50 and reappear when there are 1 or less. this would be extremely useful and time-saving, especially for people who have not chosen the "50 topics per page" option. my only current alternative to this possible feature is to push Ctrl+F on my keyboard, type my name in in the browser search box and hit Enter or F3 a few times trying to see if my name under topic creator is highlighted more than once. it takes longer if my name comes up on the replies to other topics. i also often have to scroll around just to check for two topics if they are split up by a bigger time frame and more than one browser page of topics.
a more complex and maybe useful implication to my suggestion would be to add "X topics left" which would hide the Bump button as it does to recently bumped topics with the Time Remaining before the next bump timer. this implication would display how many topics need to be bumped or created above our topic in order for the Bump button to reappear and would create some sort of and expectancy for the trader instead of reviewing the forum to check this manually.
the Bump button would reappear when our second topic is #50 obviously, since it would be pushed out of the top 50 by the new bumped topic
this Bump button restriction would discourage many players from violating the trading rules whether it is involuntary or purposely - as i said i have seen this a lot and as the trade moderators say "you can't and will not know if any action is taken against them" and less and less violating threads are being closed in exchange for the bullying of traders who follow all the rules and try to help support the site
