I was wondering why there wasn't a thread for new(ish) users to post an introduction/greeting for any/all guilds. I see that each guild has a public chat that may be used to try to meet/gain entry to each guild, but why not an introductory thread for people like me who can post a little about themselves for any corresponding guild leader/member to send an appropriate invite? Since most guilds have a recruiting based entry, why not a thread for them to find exactly what they're looking for? Every time I try to find chat about guilds I am taken to the guild list. Please help me if I have overlooked something.

Another idea is to come up with an application type thread. Users in search of a guild fill out the application and post it publicly for all guild leaders to see. That way you can get into a guild that will be fitting and possibly even beneficial to not just the new recruit but to the entire guild. You don't want someone interested in car building and recreation to accidentally join a guild full of feminists. Kinda off the wall there, but you catch my drift. I think it would benefit everyone. Input?

It seems a couple of people are already misinterpreting what I am saying. I could spend an hour or so looking at each guild one at a time trying to find what suits me. Or I could post a public application for all guild leaders to see, and (since the guild leaders already know what/how/who is in and about the guild, it saves people, like me, time doing research. If that person is not what the guild is looking for then they move on to the next, if there is one. If not an application then, as stated in paragraph 1, an introductory page. Tell a little about yourself and what you're into. Let the guild leaders decide if you fit their certain criteria. Savvy?

Upon viewing the application/introduction, the guild leaders could pm the certain user an invitation to their guild, then the user knows which guilds to look at instead of trying to look at all of them.

You can put in your signature that you are actively seeking a guild & link it to a blog post describing you & your interests.

Most guilds have their own separate guild chat for recruits to come in and introduce yourself, fill out an application, etc, so utilize it!

I understand it's a big list of guilds to go through, but when it comes to finding the right home for you, take the time.

Exactly! their own separate guild chats, this would be for all guild leaders to be able to make an educated decision without HOPING someone sees it in your sig and sends you an invite. It's an effective way to make finding the right guild an easy task.

There are a lot of guilds that have a recruitment chat. Here is an example: http://forums.d2jsp.org/guild.php?t=2834

Just take a look through the Guild Topic's for any specific guild to see if they have one. If they don't have a recruitment specific chat, just join in on conversation in the main chat.

all guilds that seek people to join the guild put in there guild charter or have a topic saying Recruitment, in which you can apply, there is then a separate topic in which you can choose who can see and who cant in the guild then people make there decision there,

this is enough imo, the way this is done is fine, its simple, and no point changing it

Yes but when you post under the guild recruitment page, it applies only to one guild. Why not apply to all at once and see whos most fitting, sort of like applying for college. Not sure exactly which is best so you apply to many only to receive a notice saying whether or not your the fitting material.

because you are applying a certain guild for a reason? like the guild I am in is with friends, active d2 players, and all active jsp and friendly,
so I chose this guild and applied to it and waited the time to be accepted .

you can join any guild with loads of members as they just want lots of people,

if you want to do something where they message you, goto general spam (general chat) post a topic there saying u seek guild, end of the day its another spam topic so fits there well?

yet again, that would entail me having to do research on each guild to see which best fits. this is a method to save time from having to do that. being that it would be in the Guild related forums, easy to see, less time to wait, better results
