Duping is one of the 2 major problems in Diablo 2 if you ask me.
At this time it is illegal to trade a duped item if you didnt inform the buyer that it is unperm. But it is not if you inform the person.
The main reason duping is such a big problem is that, dupers mass produce things like High runes and similar. Which very quickly turns the value of these items to near 0 while it floods the entire game with high end/endgame items.
im hoping there is a majority that feels the same way that duping is one of the things that we have to strike down on,
I also see botting as a major problem in diablo 2, however there really isnt much we can do on JSP to make sure people do not use bots, and sadly there is no way we can check it.

There's no way to proof is an item is duped or if said item poofed after rejoining a game. Dupers would just sell one rune at the time and people would be overpaying for the dupes.

For the most part the runes are perm though, it's a dupe process but in the end it gets cubed making it perm

Even so if they were duped, once you socket the rune it's fine, so kinda hard to crack down on this

The game is just total shit though... It's 15 years old that isn't supported anymore really

I think enforcing those items to be completely illegal would only result in more unperm as perm issues and won't solve the essential problem. It's a no from me.

Gotta say no. It's not that i like the duping or anything, but the problem is, the game is nearly dead.

5 years or so ago: I would have agreed and said duped items should not be allowed to be traded, as Diablo still had a lot of players at the time.. But right now, if those rune dupers(simple example) don't start mass selling the runes, all the people who can't afford to spend 1,000 - 2,000fg on a single high rune are going to start disappearing from the game, quickly. And once they leave, all the people that the people who do find a good item will leave because they have no one that will buy it.

It's sad to say this, but duped rune words are the only thing keeping the game alive anymore. Without them, with only 6 months between resets, very few if any of the players that can't throw in thousands of FG into a single character aren't even going to have a single character made completely before they have to start all over again.

i disagree with this, the prices of items in a place such as EU SC L trading forum

is based 100% on supply and demand
which makes that basically impossible.
to give an example

i have a Ber rune, that i am trying to sell for 1000 fg on day 1 of ladder, but no one is buying
the second day i might think i can still get 1000 fg for that ber rune, but no one is buying
eventually since no one is buying i will have to lower my price to an ammount that someone thinks is acceptable, and so he buys it.
i also believe saying that the game is dead and thay they vote no because the game is very old and no one plays it, well if we all just went meh these things never happen and it will NEVER GET BETTER.

i agree with that it is hard to keep track of it, i just believe making it illegal would be a step in the right direction.

i also dont believe that everyone who is duping now, would just start selling their dupes as perm, since that WILL get them banned, the idea is that when selling duped items is illegal very few to no people will be duping since they would not want to risk loosing their d2jsp acc to an illegal trade.

Yes but you realize most of the "duped" items are perm right? Obviously besides the nl stuff like fletch and all those godlies..

Runewords become perm even with duped runes in them..no one is duping shako maras and other uniques..

The runes are imported they are infact actually perm items. You will never be able to stop these trades..as long as the item is listed as unperm their is no issue.

All these guys with mass rune sets and runewords, they are perm items...atleast the reputable guys..wether or not they legit found or duped the items are perm so how can you make it illegal

i do understand how and why you perm an item, however that doesnt really change the effect duping has on d2, just make it slightly harder to catch dupers.

i dont believe that we should let dupers keep exploiting bugs in the game, similar to how we would not in ANY OTHER GAME.

just because they refined their methods into making the item appears and is 100% same as the original, there has still been used hacks/exploits to make it, and that is what i am against.
