Howdy doody

I am posting today because I have finally thought up a way to change the current issue i see with "My Events"
So this is my first site suggestion in quite a long time, check it out and im open to all feedback! Let's make some change here folks :-)

Background:
Recently, I have been trying to organize active events such as walkthroughs and ironman tournaments on escl. I have had several successful attempts at this with a huge participant turnout, and they are of course free to join. some events have even attracted anonymous donations and donations from users towards the prize pot who are not even competing
Unfortunately, after each of the events (I only have 2 linked but there have been more), i get a major suspension from jsp and i believe it may lead to a warn. I don't want that. The topics get closed for "trade spam"
I am not posting here to fight this, i recognize why my topics were closed and why i got suspended. I am simply posting here to come up with a solution to keep these things going and making them acceptable
Dutch Masters Ironman Tournament #2
Dutch Masters Ironman Tournament #3

The issue:
1. Posting events such as ironman's do not belong in the Trade Forums. The belong in either the Legit Dueling subforum, or under the My Events
---A. The reason why we need these events to stay in the trade forums is for the traffic of the forum and the targeted audience. The "My Events" is a great feature of d2jsp, unfortunately it is not used. As of right now, there are a total of 20 events, only 4 of which are for Diablo II. This is sad to see, therefor I do not believe it is fair to restrict such community-friendly events to just the My Events section

The Solution:
1. Implement a "tab" in the Diablo-II Trade forums for Events. This will list all events similarly to ISO / FT / SERVICE .....
...now here's the kick! The "EVENT" tab will be set up to work like Guild Topics do, a basic post entry form and they do not add to post count. This will solve the "Trade spam" issue

Here is a quick draft of what I propose this to look like

Pros:
- Events will target the desired community and receive the viewing traffic they deserve
- No more suspensions or warns or closed topics will need to be given by the staff
- Will encourage more friendly activities in the community

Cons:
- The only con I can think of is how this will actually be implemented. It would not require and NEW scripts or forum parts to be created, it can simply implement ones which already exist and relocate them (ie. the ft / iso tabs for EVENTS and the guild topic style basic posts)

Thank you!

The problem with this is that most of the time people aren't actively seeking out events. You're just sitting around browsing trades to see if you can snag some good deals and an event pops up that looks cool so you decide to check it out.

This will lead to mass amounts of spam in a trade forum.

People seek events when they're interested in an event. Posting these things in a trade section of the forum is just going to be abused. I vote no.

it wasnt that long ago, a year or two tops. it was just as retarded. much better the way it is now with services included. no reason not to include this, too. im curious how this could be 'abused' any more than the services or anything else. if youre not hosting an event and you make an event thread, it would be locked same as if you posted a non-service service thread now.
