Well, after my 'early' bump thread lock yesterday I've noticed people doing this time and time and time again, and getting away with it. I was told to report, but quite frankly I'm not going to be
that guy.
Regardless, I realized that 99% of the time people do this because they wanted to add something to their last post, but they can no longer edit it. How long is this time period? I really think it should be extended and would save on a lot of the early bumps in the trade forums. It certainly would have saved my auction thread from being closed 3 mins before closing if I could have edited my last post with the 3 min left warning I posted. Another idea is being able to edit the initial post at any point in time for updating trade lists etc. Countless times people post bins on the 4th page of a thread when something is long gone because they were referring to the first post.
I would like to mention that 4 hours is a dang long time, but I don't think I'll have any shot at that one getting changed or even thought about.
I don't think this is such a terrible idea
