I suggest a notification for when someone replies to your thread.

If I post and someone quotes me i think it'd be cool to receive a notification

Personally, you have already the Instant Messenger who notify you with a Beep when a person post in your thread, send you a pm, join your event, leave your event, send you a friend request etc...
So in my eyes it's enough.

You can already receive sound notifications on the njIRCIM http://forums.d2jsp.org/chat.php when someone posts in a tracked topic just leave it open. You also receive PM, My Events, and friend invitation notifications through there. I don't see the need for any additional notifications.
