So every ladder reset, one of the things that always made me say "dag nabbit" was when I had a very elaborate trade thread that would get deleted once servers went down.
Now, before all you nay sayers come in and say oh boo hoo Fatal, just do this, let me point out that although I KNOW I could do the following things, it would be convenient not to.
1) Quote the post and keep the page open before servers go down and subsequently the ladder forums become inaccessible so that you can just copy paste it over to an NL thread
2) Copy/paste the quote into a text document and store/save on your computer/laptop
3) Rewrite/post the thread on NL
4) Google the thread in the case that somewhere in some cache it is still available
5) Spend the next 5 years searching the "2011" (still don't understand why it isn't the present year) archives to find the thread and use the guide of "how to quote any post [even in closed threads]" to remake the thread.
Also, please do not suggest that I just post the thread on NL before the forums become accessible because I personally feel it would be in direct violation of the following rule
"Do not offer fg/items you don't have."
Even though I technically HAVE the items, they are not on the same realm or w/e. Even if I said, 'hey btw these are on ladder but will be on NL once servers go up', it would still violate this other rule
"Do not trade items cross games/realms/cores."
SO
My idea. I think that when ladder servers go down, rather than archiving all of ladders threads, they instead be relocated to NL. People who choose not to continue the threads on NL can either post a request to have it closed or just simply let it die and have the jsp system maintenance (which I imagine exists as an automated software) to archive the thread.
This would be similar to the idea of ladder characters being moved to the NL realm.
