I feel it would help with everything from scammers to old making sure your message was recived

This actually exists, in the Message Tracker: http://forums.d2jsp.org/pm.php?c=12 (Under the PM list in your Inbox)

Bold means Unread and Not deleted
Unbolded means read
Grey and Unbolded means deleted

Edit: To activate it on a message, choose the "Track Message" checkbox when sending.

I belive it should show it beside the message someplace someone will see it I doubt.many people even acknowledge its there
