The Post counter is an old system used to implicate the users.

It is used to determine how active a user is, and how much content they have "contributed."
It is really the source of massive spam and shitposts.

The soul reason for "+1" posts is post count alone. This is literally the definition of spam.

I think with all the amazingly innovative and superior forms of user implication the site has that it would be time to retire the "Post count" system, since it's viability is relatively nein.

I really wish I could reduce my post count because I feel that not all my posts are worthy to be counted, while I make sure to edit my posts if someone posts below me, as long as I can. I still feel like they are an accumulation of information that is not valid.

I understand there are people that feel higher post count makes an impression, it is now a sign of shitposts spam and utter lack of important content.

The viability of a user can be easily derived from the way they post; the stars; the orbs; the signature; the avatar; the profile; the guild; the profile; the gold; the join date; and everything else.

Post count is only producing spam at this point.

Voted no, sorry.

There are too many users who have older accounts or have obtained older accounts/low post accounts for the purpose of scamming and could easily pretend to be anyone they want to be, have any signature/orb they want to with only 100 posts.

Post count can show a user has been a long-time contributor to the site and they are active in helping/trading.

This is just my opinion.

You have proven the validity of my premise.

Not going to happen. Spammers will continue to spam.
Nothing will change.

I voted no.
People will still post even if there isn't a post count, even if they have nothing else to stay.

No. Removing a visible post count would do nothing to prevent spamming

Tell me why you posted here, when the thread gives you absolute expression without posting, and even gives you strong incentive not to post.

+1?

You each posted "No." when the thread has a poll attached with that exact option of expression. Why did you post twice?

Voted no. Post count helps in trading forums, via the 2/3 rule. Helps prevent SOME scams.

Thank you everyone, we have all the information I hoped for. I will begin to process this. Your contributions are appreciated.
