short and sweet, and probably suggested already...should a notification be sent when you get/send a friend request?

I think it would be pretty easy to add, and currently it's not exactly convenient to see you're friend requests/they expire sometimes for lack of notice

This already exists.
Instant Messenger provides a sound when receiving a friend request (if enabled).

I don't see this option and have never heard of it

I figured this was already suggested/there was something in place but idk where

edit: plus I still think a notification would be easy and still beneficial

Click instant messenger at the top right, it is on every single d2jsp page.

There is a settings gear, make sure that notify on friend request is checked, just leave that tab open.

ya I agree and stand by my suggestion of there being a real pm/notification
