The limit on the edit button is to keep people from going back at any time, scamming someone and editing their post to make it look like they didn't scam anyone. This will not be changed.

I understand that but trying to think of another way this could work out without editing

You can edit your post 30 minutes after it was made. Longer than that is for staff members only, and will not be changed.
