This post is a violation of the site rules and appropriate action was taken.

I received a suspension for an illegal trade in a thread that I clearly stated I removed the item from the AH.

I had a trade thread closed with the reason that it was an illegal trade without stating what the illegality was. So, without knowing what made it an illegal trade I re-created my trade thread. As soon as someone informed me that having an item on the AH for others to compare I removed it and stated it was removed from the AH to be in compliance.

AFTER I acted to be in compliance I received a suspension.

Learn to moderate and not be dicks. You have the right to have whatever rules you want, it's your forum. But if you're going to penalize someone at least state the reason so they don't repeat the mistake.

understandably mods have a LOT to do as there are thousands of threads and replies, but i have to agree here. i am the one who informed the OP about his/her illegal trade rule violation (and speculated that was the reason for a prior thread closure) and he/she immediately took the action necessary to be in compliance with the rules on JSP trading. i do not see why a topic closure and/or suspension was issued for this second offense. do you (njaguar) actually expect every new person to have every rule memorized? i have been here on JSP for almost a year now and am still learning some of them!! and the mods, imo, should specifically point out the rule violation - not just a link to the rules whereby a person may or may not "figure it out". imagine if you got pulled over by the police while driving your car and got a ticket and the ticket was for "a violation" and the officer then gave you a copy of every driving rule and said you violated one of these :wallbash:

also, as long as we are on the subject of site improvement and mod behavior .. some NON-ambiguity with the rules and their enforcement woudl be nice. i am tired of seeing the same "certain people" continuously and repeatedly violate these same rules and not get their threads closed and not get suspensions and not get warnings. again, imagine if honda drivers all got speeding tickets but toyota drivers didnt :wallbash:

The problem here is not the moderators, but people that choose not to read the forum rules.

Your opening post mentioned the item being on the auction house, and subsequently, it was closed. The likely scenario here is something like: Somebody reported your thread -> followed by a moderator responding to the report -> that moderator noticed you had recreated this thread with mention of an auction house.

You were suspended.

This is not a moderator issue, but an issue of people being ignorant of the forum rules. You acknowledge the rule when someone brought it up, and that is a good thing, but it was in the SIXTH post. You expect people [Yes - moderators are people that volunteer here] to read through entire threads for the possibility that someone recognized the rules that they broke in the first place?

I understand you might be a little upset at being suspended, but this is a learning curve. You learned something here. There is never enough reason to be disrespectful towards others.

As for the person above me: Imagine traveling to another country and a police officer pulls you over for breaking a law. Do you think pleading ignorance to the law would be acceptable? No. It absolutely would not be acceptable. It is your responsibility to know about the laws of that other country.

It is the same thing here, it is the responsibility of the user to read and understand the forum rules.
