It seems to me that the older member of the D2JSP community are becoming "nilled out" by the 2011-2013 users. The respect of someone that has been on this site for 5-10 years seems to be getting worse & worse as time goes on. For example: A 2011 user writes in a post instructing a 2003 user what to do & how to do it! I am all for constructive criticism, but this is getting out of hand. When I am asked by a 2013 to go first. THe trade will not happen. The moderators & j mods do a great job patrolling, but to ALL users on the forums. A little courtesy goes a L O N G ways. The disrespectful nature of some of the members is becoming too much. What about adding a bar for respect? That other traders upon the forums can "Grade" a user by his/her actions upon the forums? Such as the warn bar.

A join date isn't a direct reflection of someones personality. If you don't trust a user, use a mediator. Judging someone based off of their join date is childish.

This could easily be abused.

Join date, forum gold and post count are irrelevant when it comes to trading and should not be used to decide who goes first. If you want to be sure to make a trade with success, just use a Mediator. You can request one at any time, for any amount ;)

I do agree whole-heartedly with you both. I also have been "accosted" by a supposedly new user. What I'm seeing now are lots of multi's popping up because they have/had too much of a warn %. I can't prove this, but personality traits do move with the person. I think what hellfire3 is asking for is just a little bit of tact and respect all across the board. Those of us who have been here a few years would like to remain.

Hello there,

I mean no disrespect, but this is a bunch of dripple. All people want extra privileges, whether it is a citizen of some country or a d2jsp member that have been around a long time. What you are proposing is not only a bad idea, but one that would hurt the community. A join date, post count, or forum gold does not make you a trusted member of the community, and it does not mean you deserve respect. Respect is something earned. Have you consider how new users are treated here? People often accusing you as being a multi, and get this, they are often pressured into compromising trade situations on unreasonable grounds.

I put a lot of effort into my posts and help out here and there, and let me tell you, that is a lot more than what some member have done in the decade they have been here. I had a 2002 user request that I send 10k forum gold first, and he had 50 posts (14 recent). I mean, really? All users with a unrated trade status are on equal footing, it is that simple. There is a system already in place to reward people that have established themselves as respectable and trustworthy.

Peoe should be using a mediator. If you want to take the risk of trading without one, at least look at the content of a users posts/profile to get a better GESTURE of that persons character. Your join date is irrelevant to status in trading.

What should be used to decide then? Stars and orbs? As if there's always time to wait for a medi at every trade (guess not even every game is supported by medis or some are only by a very few medis)

Extra privileges? I have been asked to help on these forums. I won't work for free. There are many other ways than being a mod or trade assistant to help make these forums a better place for everyone. The priveilege is having a star or bar by your name stating that you help out in the JSP community & are a good mannered trader. It is about respect! Not join date, fg or posts.

Joindate doesn't say anything other than the obvious; when the account was made.

and no, I don't want to be rated by the trolls here.
