Yup I think you guys need a way to let people know their inbox is full when a message cannot be sent, would help alot and im sure people would agree. Maybe notify them with a message from staff when the message sender hits the button for it. I know someone has an idea.

You can do this by sending them a small amount of FG, assuming they have the PM notification on, they will receive a new PM about it. However, usually people know when their box is full, and they have it that way on purpose, as they don't want messages for some reason.
