Thank You For Post, This will allow people to thank a person for posting a certain post. If that user found that post usefull they will thank the person who posted it.

For example, someone helped a person on General Help, the orgional poster will thank the reply of the person who helped.

Each person has a "Thanks Received" in their profile and it will show how many thanks they have received.

This is helpful to show what posts were helpful to people.

Imo it should be carefully chosen though in which parts of the forum this option can be used.
For example it would not make much sense to make it available for the trading sections - "Thanks" could get "farmed" there without worthy posts or topics imo.

Right, It would only work in sections like General Help and others worthy of the feature.

i dont se any need for this. if you like to thank someone, PM him/her.
and i think this would be abused alot. with multis, and by buying and selling "thank's"

This would be considered "like" button that has been suggested plenty of times.

Thinkin the same.. and it's what small donations of gratitude are for as well. 'Quality help' isn't anything attainable by farming and will only remain a service done out of goodwill.

people already abuse the fact that post count is a displayable statistic by spamming threads with +1
this would be a horrible addition because it would give another meaningless value to take advantage of while offering nothing positive in return
