I believe that the name changes are nice and convenient thing to have, but very complicated for buyers/sellers in the goldlog.
Not everyone is up to date to each person's name change and if they were not aware, those names are also changed in the gold logs.
So, say you bought something that needs a history or you bought something from someone and want a repeated service, but the person changed his name. You only remember his name or partial of it, but now you cannot find it after the name change.
What I am suggesting is, keep the gold log as solidified as when it occurred, meaning if you bought/sold an item with a person named "A" and he gets a name change later to "B," the gold log stays with "A."
Of course clicking the name "A" would bring it to his (B's) forum gold management screen.
I do believe that the coding of the links would have to be changed for this, and more than likely the link to the person you traded with would have to be removed, unless we want to cause a huge strain on the servers.
There is another more befitting suggestion in here, asking paul to allow the receiver to leave a comment in gold log, this would serve its purpose to keep track of usernames i believe.
Or a better suggestion would be to ask paul to give a username history link in each persons profile.
