for example if one guild has 100 member slots, 1 guild topic, 5 guild points and the 2nd one has 50 member slots, two guild topics, 1 guild point
merged guild would have 150 member slots, 3 guild topics, 6 guild points

this would make guild sales more valuable

no because guids 2 and 3 can merge and become #1 for the guild points but then the previous guild 1 got screwed... but the member/guild topic merge is fine

I doubt that any guild (besides Intrasiege which is gonna be sold) would merge for the guild points (because rivalities, fairplay)
