when it's birthday for someone from your friendlist you should get an automaticaly system message that announce you that
it's not easy to remember to much dates and this might help

should have two settings - enable and disable (for the ones that don't care too much about or dont want to be disturbed)

i made that suggestion because if have 10-20 good friends about you start to care it's not that easy to keep in mind all the info and you find out is his/her birthday from someone else post

I have only real friends in my friendlist, and i know their birthdays.
I dont think we need such a feature.
If i cant remember, i make a note for myself on computer.

You can simply use the My Events system for birthday notifications.
Just enter the date of your friends birthday, and make sure to select the boxes 'Recurring Event' and 'PM Reminder (Day of/One Day Before)'

Couldn't agree more, this isn't Facebook and Also as A2K said if you feel the birthday is important then you should remember it yourself

Select "Private Event" and manually fill out the infomation needed.
