I've always wanted to see a news forum here on JSP.

A sub forum to maybe general discussion that is dedicated solely to world news. Whatever the news may be.
Perfect example - The shooting that occurred today, a guy killing 27 people, including 20 children and his mother. I'm sure not many people know about it, because like me
I don't have cable - Though I do read yahoo / cnn every day to keep up on current events as I am in afghanistan.

I think a news forum would be awesome.

For recent world news, it can be posted in General Chat, Political and Religious Discussion/Science, Technology and Nature, depending on the news, or the Donor Forum, they fit there very well.

Yeah I agree, popular news will trend in places that are worthy..

news forum not really necessary

Many people do no have donor forum access.

It would cut having to travel 5 forums to find news.

one collective news forum would be great.

I must say I agree with this, although it sort of goes in the forums ravethego posted above.

I'm currently undecided.

Pard is as close as you're going to get for serious discussion on current events. I don't think a new sub forum will draw out anyone that doesn't already post either there or in df/gc in regards to events like today. As far as people without df access go, if for some reason a person thinks that a current event will somehow only be discussed in the df and not pard or gc they can use it as motivation to try and gain access. Many people who post in the df post an identical thread in gc though when in regards to something major.
