Maybe this has been suggested before, maybe not?

I think we should have the option to receive friend request notifications, just like the way forum gold notifications get sent to out PM box.
Of course, with the option to enable/disable them, based on the individual user's preferences.

It makes sense to me. I think with the current method, it's not always noticeable if there's a "pending" request unless you literally go to your profile and view it.
Does anybody make this a routine thing to check? I really don't...and I can imagine that other members do not notice them all the time as well.

It's pretty simple, with the key factor of having the ability to enable/disable under the "Settings" section.
I think this would be helpful and very useful. I know I would appreciate it!

Well, that's a letdown. Thanks for the info.
I wonder why this is/was rejected? It seems very useful to me and others seem to have thought so as well.
