CLOSE TOPIC BUTTON

A simple button next to quote or add reply! That's all it takes.
Or a extra option in our profile!
Would make it a lot easier, because just letting topic drop to archive wont stop other people from posting in it before it drop's out!

Thank you for voting

How could a button cause scams? Explain! Humans scam! Never heared of a scamming button

The idea behind it is to stop spamming of old topics! And less work for mod's!!!

I don't want users closing topics, but I wouldn't mind a "request a moderator to close topic" button

Would be a start!
But why not let user's close their own topic's? If every user request mod to close a finished trade topic, mod's would be closing topic's all day.
I don't see why closing my own topic would be bad!

it could be used for bm and wrong purposes... imagine this:

a user makes a one of those "10 minute topics"
a user starts the auction
no one overbids him
the seller bumps the thread in hopes for more offers
there's 1-2 minutes left and no one seems interested
the seller closes the topic before the time is up so that the auction is canceled and he doesn't have to sell whatever he's offering
if the guy who was going to win is mad and says he is bm, the seller can say "it was closed by the staff because he early bumped"

so if you requested the lock, instead of locking it yourself, it would take a little time for the thread to get closed and this wouldn't be an issue

BTW! There are a lot of these all ready! Not self closed but timed topic! And no sell because offers to low! And no mod seems to care about it!^^

I get your point! But as simple as your example imagine:
The angry user ask staff why closed topic?
Staff say we didn't close!
The topic maker who closed to early would get warning!(I hope^^)

Or in a different case imagine:
a user makes a topic selling his account with 8chars Lvl.99 (yeah right)
he offers for 1st post no matter how many fg
1st user post Offer 1fg
other users with massiv fg think! wtf? and start spamming topic with offers like 1k fg and so on
but not only topic also pm
until he get a mod to close it his pm box is full and he doesn't receive pm from other trade where he bought 10 accounts full with anni's
and later when he finally get in contact with the seller of the anni account it is already sold, cause he didn't answer

But anyway it don't matter! I just made a suggestion here! It would take work away from mods so they could concentrate on more important stuff like checking for forum rule violations!
And most important of all users would see when a topic is closed! At the moment we have to check every topic to see if closed or not!

THX for your reply
