Are you tired of sending this PM's notifying people that they've been outbid - the people that don't constantly check up?

Let's put a new button to help you out with that!

It can work but I think it can only work with fg if it was to be applied.

It would be more complex if there is more than 1 item per topic.

Also the Notifier should say the full amount.
Not 25k but 25,000. :]

Not going to lie I don't see any need for this really. Just tell people to track the topic and they will know if there offer got out bidded or not.

I wouldn't really like to get a notifcation pm when someone else offered more then I did in a topic.

Thanks for the suggestion! I think it could work either way, it's not like the notifier will need to read one over the other.
And with more than one item per topic, often an image is involved, hence the "item number" portion

As for the 25k vs 25,000 - I'm guessing most people grasp the idea of "k" meaning a thousand, but it could work either way - it's more preference and habit by now for me

As most people don't track topics, and often have "Please PM me if I've won or am outbid" in their signature, this would be useful in that.

Well if you can disable it then sure I could see it useful for others, but if it can't then I would really hate this

IMO this would require way too much work


There would have to be too many scripts...

You would need to have the sellers manually enter a bin and an item name, essentially would need a code for the item.

Then the buyer would have to either choose the code/whatever and bid on it...


Do you see what I'm saying?


This is a really good idea but the work and confusion to do this would be tremendous.



*EDIT* If those screenshots are real and this is already being worked on then retract my opposition and check me down for a yes...but otherwise what you have in that image would be hard to attain

No. This is not an auction site, bids are not enforceable, its forum.

Nobody is saying bids are enforceable - this is simply a tool to help those who bid on hundreds of items at any given time know when they're outbid. People ask to be informed if they're outbid, this assists the sellers in doing so, while helping the buyers keep track.

The script for the button already exists between: Bump, edit and request mediator, just requires a few tweaks
The script for the pop-up already exists, just need to allow for different text to be entered - fg send box.
The script for the disabling would require the most work, but realistically not nearly as much as most think

would say no, might be annoying with trade threads lasting longer than 24hours etc.

This ain't bad idea, but i think, that, this is not needed, sorry.
