i'll start by saying that i wouldn't suggest a 'total' ban from messaging use but, more-so add steps to earn that right back.

the idea being, to restrict usage from private messaging to 'non-staff' users until official actions have been made towards paying back scams.
at that point a lift would be placed on these restrictions, to allow users to setup trades without further burdening the staff in facilitating the trades.

the goal of this is to largely prevent last minute organization when a scammer is tagged. at least through the site.
for all i know.... this restriction might already exist but, i don't believe so. i'm not really trying to test this out myself either.

I thought if you were locked you already couldnt send pms to anyone but staff

if that's the case then this thread can be closed down.

i assumed it wasn't the case, but again, it wasn't something i wanted to find out first-hand.

edit: actually i know it isn't the case when someone is "locked".
but, not every "lock" is for a bad reason. so maybe this does happen with a scammer tag, but not just from a gold lock.

I believe the only right anyone with a locked and/or scammer tag has is the ability to post in forums they aren’t warn %’d out of (some sub forums restrict being posted in with x % warn) and pming staff members. They cannot have their warn reduced or profile rights until they fix their locked status
